Chansons du vent (2011) Chansons du vent (2011), for soprano and piano, is a collaboration between Sophie Wingland and myself. In three parts, the collection includes two full settings of a text written by Sophie specifically for the project. Two contrasting settings of the poem evoke different perspectives: The mood of the first song is distant and reflective, while the second song finds the singer more romantic and overcome with emotion. Following these two settings, a short postlude concludes the set, recalling the very opening.
