- Proverb 'Tonewood' is a term generally used to designate wood with recognized acoustic qualities that make it ideal for use in the construction of musical instruments. Tonewood was premiered on February 5, 2009, by the USC Thornton Symphony, Donald Crockett conducting, as part of the 2009 USC Thornton New Music for Orchestra (NMO) program at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA.
